The Garden Grows (so quickly!)

I have to admit that the garden has been growing so quickly it's hard to keep up with blog posts! The sad part is that many seedlings DID NOT survive the transplant. In fact, not a single cucumber survived. I started the entire garden bed over with seeds and very few of the survivor seedlings.

I feel like as soon as something cool happens in the garden, I want to take a picture and then another great thing happens before I post. And I always want the updated information to blog about. Anyhow, here are some new pictures.

We also got a puppy, Scout. She may be another reason I've been preoccupied.

She is so cute!

Can you spot Scout? How about our new bday gift?

Correct! We got a riding mower (well, mainly Patrick for his bday).

Left to Right: Broccoli, Marigold Petite, Carrot

Strawberry plant between some convenient seating in the garden.

View of the new entrance to the garden. (BTW... do you see Scout?)
She LOVES shade :)

Another view of the garden and of course, Scout!

We planted Wisteria by the gate. It'll look so gorgeous when it takes off!!

I'd love to plant corn, beans, pumpkins, melons, zucchinis, yellow squash here...
ooh but the gophers and hard soil are quite discouraging!

Not a bad view, right?

Beautiful woodwork and the pup :)

Good garden view of our extra large Box Elder trees.

onion and beet

my one lonely head of lettuce

Dahlia buds!!! :)

Left to Right: cucumber, marigold, cauliflower, broccoli, petite marigold, carrot.
Another Dahlia bud!

The lettuce is getting bigger.

Blurry pic, but I added more lettuce seeds and they're taking off really well.
Tiny pear fruit on the tree.

First colorful bud... can't wait to see my first Dahlia flower!!!

Cute lattice for the Wisteria to climb.

Left to Right: European mixed greens, jalapeno, hot pepper, tomatillo,
Royal Hillbilly - giant red slicing tomato, Green Zebra Striped - green heirloom with stripes, yellow pear shape tomato

The first bloom! A fantastic coral colored Dahlia!!!

This one looks interesting!

Marigold... I guess they repel insects. (Well, some insects,
the plants right next to these have holes in their leaves!)

Better view of cucs, marigolds, and cauliflower.
